A letter from Keltbray to the residents of Euston: Reduction in weekend working at National Temperance Hospital in October

Dear Neighbour,

Reduction in weekend working at National Temperance Hospital in October

Hello, we are Keltbray, contractors working on behalf of HS2. HS2 is a new railway that will link the cities of the North and the Midlands to London Euston. Keltbray has been appointed to carry out the demolition of the National Temperance Hospital in Hampstead Road. The space will then become the site office for all HS2 works in the Euston area.

Last week, we told you that scaffolding and hoarding will be installed around the site during October 2016 and we needed to do this during weekends. Scaffolding and hoarding will be going up over the pavement on the Hampstead Road and Cardington Street frontages. Public safety is therefore a key consideration.

We didn’t begin the work last week, as originally planned, and following discussions this week with Camden Council and Transport for London we have been able to reduce the amount of work we will do outside core hours at the weekend.

TfL has agreed that scaffolding work on the Hampstead Road façade can take place on:

· Saturdays 8th and 15th October between 8am and 6pm

· Sundays 9th and 16th October between 10am and 5pm.

Once the essential base of the scaffolding is erected the upper scaffold will be safely completed during core working hours which are Mon- Fri; 8am-6pm.

Camden Council has agreed that scaffolding work on the Cardington Street façade can take place:

· inside the existing hoarding on Friday 7th October and then

· Saturdays 8th October and 15th October between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

· No Sunday working

This will enable work on the footpath to take place safely and be less disruptive for the public, local schools and nearby residents.

We will take all practical measures to reduce noise and disturbance and will comply with the conditions of the licences Camden Council and TFL have issued which require robust measures to reduce noise and disturbance to local residents. Camden Council’s licence reference is T64742 for the works and the TfL licence reference is TFL08043.

We again would like to apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience our work may cause. If you have any concerns, please contact us. You will find contact details on the 'HS2 in Euston' section of this website.

Regards,

Keltbray.
