Costain Skanska Joint Venture (CSJV) is continuing preparatory works on behalf of HS2 around Euston Station. These include works at Euston Square Gardens, St James’s Gardens, the DB Cargo shed (disused train carriage shed in the railway cutting adjacent to Park Village East ) and the surrounding area around Granby Terrace.
Preparatory works are continuing inside a number of buildings around Euston Station ahead of the construction of the new High Speed 2 station and associated infrastructure in Euston.
Long-term closure of Euston Square Gardens
The west side of Euston Square Gardens (Melton Street side) is now closed to the public for the duration of the HS2 Construction works. This includes heritage works, site clearance, utility diversions and the construction of a temporary taxi rank. The area has been fenced off, hoardings erected and a number of trees have been removed. We will maintain pedestrian access through the gardens where possible while we carry out the works, and alternative routes will be clearly signed. Hoarding lines around this area will change over the Easter break while works at Euston Station are being carried out. The hoarding around the towers at the front of the station will be erected on 30 March.
Demolition of the DB Cargo shed and parapet wall
The demolition of DB Cargo shed and the parapet wall along Park Village East has started; this work is planned to be finished by the end of May. Engagement with residents about proposals for hoarding artwork at Park Village East has taken place. The artwork will start to be installed in the week starting 13 March and will take five days to complete. Parking restrictions will be in place during the work and will be removed at the earliest opportunity once the work is completed.
The CSJV construction team at the DB Cargo shed is hosting a community open day at the site. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the site, meet members of the construction team and discuss the works at DB Cargo shed. Visitor numbers are limited to ten, booked on a first come first served basis. If more people are interested we will organise additional open days.
To receive more information about this event and to book your place please email CE-camden@csjv.co.uk or call the Hs2 Helpdesk on 08081 434 434 .
