Demolition works at DB Cargo shed

Demolition works at DB Cargo shed

The demolition of the DB Cargo shed will start on 22 January with the demolition of the brick building on Granby Terrace, and will then continue with the deconstruction of the cargo shed, which will be carried out in a phased process.

Work is currently taking place to install hoardings and demolition screens on Park Village East between Granby Terrace Bridge and the temporary scaffolding stairs. This includes some further tree and foliage removal from within the planters. This work is due to finish by the end of January. The parking restrictions that have been in place during these activities will then be lifted at the earliest opportunity and the bays returned to their former use.

A scaffold platform is being built behind the hoarding, from which the deconstruction of the parapet wall will be carried out. This includes full height acoustic screening to mitigate against noise impacts while the wall is being removed. This work will take place during the second half of February starting from the southern end near Granby Terrace and work northwards. The deconstruction will be undertaken by hand in sections of approximately 50m at a time.

New road access into the DB Cargo shed

From early February a road access will be built into the DB Cargo shed site within the Granby Terrace hoarding on the west side of the cutting adjacent to Park Village East.

During these works there will be intermittent increases in local noise levels and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
