Footpath realignment and scaffolding installation around the UCL building on Hampstead Road

*update - this work has been delayed and is now due to start from 30 July

As part of the preparation for the route design of the HS2 high speed railway, we are starting the deconstruction of the UCL Building on Hampstead Road from now until February 2019.

The installation of the scaffolding will start from early July and is expected to take five weeks.

This will include a scaffold covered walkway along the length of the pavement adjacent to the building.

To ensure safe pedestrian movements in front of the building during the scaffold installation the adjacent south bound bus lane on Hampstead Road will be suspended and a temporary footway created using traffic management barriers.

Once the scaffold covered walkway is in place, the footpath will be reopened to pedestrians. Bus services will not be affected and the bus stops close to the building will remain open.

  • Normal working hours Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, Saturdays 8am-1pm
  • We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
