Ground investigation surveys

As part of developing the route of the HS2 high speed railway, we are carrying out ground investigationsurveys. This includes digging a trial hole at Park Village East from 13 March to 3 April 2017.

The work is being carried out on our behalf by Thames Water contractors as we are surveying the utility services located under the road surface in these roads with a view to diverting an existing trunk water main along them.

Thames Water carried out work in this area in December to identify the best location for connecting the new water main to their existing pipe. That work identified that they could not connect in the proposed location. This new investigation will use the previous information to confirm the revised proposal for the connection point.

These works will require a closure to through traffic at the northern junction of Park Village East. Alternative access arrangements will be available from the south, with traffic management measures put in place. Three parking bays will also be suspended because of the location of the trial trench. We apologise in advance for the disruption this will cause.
