HS2's Community Funds award £75,000 to the 'Euston Wellbeing Team' Project

Today saw more projects awarded funding as part of the HS2 Community and Business Funds.

The Euston Wellbeing Team Project is an outreach project to engage and support the street population and help to reduce associated crime and antisocial behaviour in the area that is being experienced by the community. The team will be made up of three officers: a police officer from Camden Police, a Community Presence Officer from the local authority and a Specialist Outreach Worker from local charity, Change Grow Live. The vulnerable street population will be supported to access services including housing and employment and will be supported to make better life choices to decrease the chances of them being involved in criminal and anti-social behaviour in the future.

The team will operate from a base at West Euston Partnership, which will also be a reporting point for the local community. They will work with the community, patrol areas and help residents and other stakeholders to feel safer in their community. Daily interactions and conversations with the community along with intelligence gathering will enable them to respond appropriately to emerging issues of concern to local people.

The HS2 CEF will provide £75,000 towards the £175,000 project with Camden providing the remaining funding.

The community and business funds are administered and managed by independent community charity, Groundwork UK. For more information on Groundwork and the funds themselves click here.
