HS2 create additional habitats at Adelaide Local Nature Reserve

Adelaide Local Nature Reserve already has plenty of biodiversity, including a pond and bird boxes. CSJV, on behalf of HS2 Ltd, will be building additional habitat features at the nature reserve from mid-August.

The following features will allow animals from other HS2 construction sites to be rehomed at the nature reserve:

  • a hibernacula suitable for hibernating amphibians and reptiles
  • three log piles
  • a stag beetle loggery
  • an invertebrate hotel and
  • three bat boxes.
  • CSJV will also carry out work on the existing boundary fence, including fixing fence panels and replacing damaged sections.

These works will take approximately eight weeks, and during this period the nature reserve will be closed to the public.
