News on HS2 in Camden

HS2 and Network Rail works update

Next week we are holding two online engagement events, which will provide a Camden-wide update on works that HS2 and Network Rail are currently carrying out, as well as information on upcoming works. These events will include a presentation followed by a question and answer session.

Plans for the former Maria Fidelis School site

Mace Dragados are also holding two online engagement events to share details of their plans for a temporary site office and welfare facility on part of the former Maria Fidelis school site, on North Gower Street and Starcross Street. These plans include a Construction Skills Centre that will be operated by Camden Council. You can find out more about these proposals here .

Update of utility works on Gower Street, Gower Place and Euston Road

Gower Street - From 19 April to the end of May works will continue on Gower Street at the junction with Euston Road. The Euston Road slip road will be closed. A traffic diversion will be in place.

Gower Place - From early March to late April the section of the road between Gower Court and Gordon Street will be closed. Vehicular access to the Wellcome Trust and UCL buildings is maintained. The footpath remains open. This section of road will be reopened for Emergency Services and Patient Transport.

Euston Road - We are continuing to lay communication and electrical ducts across Euston Road from North Gower Street to Gower Street in phases until end May. From 19th April 2021 until end May, the west bound slip road from Kings Cross towards University College Hospital will be closed. Access will be maintained only for emergency services and patient transport vehicles via Gower Place.

Update of Hampstead Road utility works, 17-18 April

As part of ongoing utility works on Hampstead Road, we will be carrying out works over the weekend of 17 – 18 April, to install a water main within our site between the Euston Throat and Hampstead Road worksites. We do not expect the works to be very noisy and acoustic barriers will be in place to mitigate any noise. The works will be carried out on Saturday 8am – 6pm, and Sunday 10am – 4pm if they cannot be completed in the single Saturday shift. Please see notification .

Euston Station sound testing, 2-7 May

Network Rail will be testing the fire alarms and public announcement systems at Euston Station for five nights from Sunday 2 May until Friday 7 May 2021, between the hours of 01:30 – 03:00. Please see work item .
