National Temperance Hospital site update

Costain Skanska Joint Venture (CSJV) is continuing preparatory works on behalf of HS2 within St James’s Gardens and the National Temperance Hospital site.

In December’s Look Ahead we noted that from the end of autumn last year, site cabins would be installed to support these works. These cabins will now be installed from Monday 9 April.

From 9 April the cabins will be delivered and installed within the site. The work will take nine days including Saturday morning, during normal working hours.

To ensure safe vehicle movements into and out of the compound, a wider gate has been installed.

For the duration of the works the following traffic management will apply:

  • The footpath on Hampstead Road directly outside the site , between Cardington street and Robert Street will be fully closed from Monday 9 April for the duration of the works
  • The Southbound bus lane (going into London) will be closed to traffic for the duration of the works. The road will otherwise remain open
  • Duration of works

  • Cabins will be delivered and installed from 9 April until 20 April
  • Normal working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, Saturdays 8am-1pm
  • Our contractors may also be on site for an hour before the start and/or at the end of each shift
  • Traffic marshals will direct vehicles straight into the site. The footpath on the opposite side of Hampstead Road will not be affected and will remain open as usual. We recognise the disturbance this work can create and we apologise in advance
