Network Rail works update: works to recommence at Euston Station from 20 April 2020

Please find below an amended Network Rail works notification. The works in Euston Station will now recommence from Monday 20 April.

We are working closely with our contractors to review works on our construction sites in line with Government and Public Health England (PHE) advice on dealing with COVID-19. The Government’s current COVID-19 strategy makes clear that construction activity should continue as long as it complies with this guidance.

Some of our contractors have taken the decision to recommence works on a limited number of work sites. Our contractors have thoroughly risk assessed these activities and are confident they can be undertaken safely, protecting our staff and the communities in which we are working.

Further to the last communication, following further planning to ensure works follow the PHE guidance, Network Rail are now planning to restart work at the Euston station site from Monday 20 April.

Work will take place in day time hours only, on the deconstruction of the west ramp and the removal of the canopy from platform 17 and 18. From 20 to 27 April, this will include breaking out concrete. A crane will then be brought onto the site on 27 April to start the removal of materials. The work for the canopy removal will start with the removal of steelwork between 20 and 27 April. A crane will then be brought to site to help remove materials. Noise mitigation measures have been put in place to minimise disturbance due to this work as much as is practicably possible.

If there are any further changes to the planned start date, Network Rail will communicate this as soon as possible. Further regular updates regarding planned work will also be uploaded to the Works in Your Area page on this website.

Network Rail would also like to remind passengers that only essential journeys should be made over Easter weekend and that a reduced timetable and engineering work will affect journeys. People who do need to make an essential journey should check before they travel at: nationalrail.co.uk.
