News on HS2 in Camden

Thames Water wrote to local residents recently to notify about their work in the local area to divert the water pipe in preparation for the construction of the new High Speed Railway.

Due to unexpected services being discovered Thames Water have encountered some engineering difficulties with their work along Augustus Street and Cumberland Market. This has resulted in a slight delay to their programme of work.

When we are working

The first section of work on Augustus Street by the junction of Cumberland Market is now due to be complete by the end of May 2018. Following this, Thames water plan to work further along Cumberland Market and Redhill Street and will write to local residents nearer the time with more information and a confirmed start date.

Thames Water are also currently working on Albany Street between Redhill Street and Regents Park Barracks. They will be working in sections along Albany Street northwards towards Gloucester Gate until early 2019.

How you are affected

There will be a road closure in place at the junction of Augustus Street and Cumberland Market and some restrictions to parking, please see on-street signage for parking suspensions and diversions.

There is a footpath closure on Cumberland Market outside the Medical Centre with a temporary path in place. The closure is expected to be in place until the end of April. Footpath access will always be maintained to and from properties.

There will be temporary traffic lights on Albany Street to maintain two-way traffic. Thames Water will make sure their work does not prevent you from getting to and from your homes.
