*18/05/18 amendment - On 30th May to 6th June, as part of our utilities trial hole work we will be starting a new section on one side of Evertsholt Street, the east side, between Doric Way and Drummond Crescent.
We will be installing temporary traffic lights for and an operative will be positioned to annually control traffic during peak times.
The pedestrian footway will be affected by CH8 signage but we will maintain a walkway of 1.2 metres minimum. Cones will be used with any signage that is placed in the carriageway and all signs will be suitably weighed.
As part of developing the route design of the HS2 high speed railway, we are carrying out utility trial hole surveys in Eversholt Street during April and May.
The trial holes will take place in six locations on Eversholt Street from 26 April to 31 May .
The surveys will involve temporary holes being dug which will enable us to establish where utilities and services are located beneath the road surface.
What to expect
For the duration of the works the following traffic management measures will be in place:
The initial digging/breaking out of the road will be the noisiest activity, although this will be intermittent and not continuous. We will erect screening clad with acoustic panels to reduce noise. We will work as quickly as we can and keep road closures to a minimum. We will keep our work area tidy.
There will be no disruption to utility services as a consequence of these works. We recognise the disturbance this work can create and apologise in advance.
