Utility trial holes; Hampstead Road, Harrington Street and Lidlington Street

As part of developing the route design of the HS2 high speed railway, we are carrying out utility trial holes in Hampstead Road , Harrington Street and Lidlington Street .

Duration of works:

  • Hampstead Road from late January 2018 expected to be completed by mid April 2018
  • Harrington Street from mid January 2018 expected to be completed by early February 2018
  • Lidlington Street from late January 2018 expected to be completed by mid March 2018
  • Normal working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, Saturdays 8am-1pm.

Our contractors may also be on site for an hour before the start and/or at the end of each shift.

The sites will be secured with construction fencing.

Acoustic panels will be used to reduce noise.

There will be three trial holes on Hampstead Road which are around the junctions of Granby Terrace, Cardington Street and outside 132 Hampstead Road (the former UCL building).

The works on Harrington Stree t will be around the junction of Mackworth Street outside the Coniston flats.

On Lidlington Street there will be two trial holes in front of Harrington Square Gardens, with a third trial hole near the junction of Lidlington Street and Eversholt Street.

The works on Lidlington Street, Hampstead Road and Harrington Street will require alternating single lane and footpath closures. There will be traffic management measures in place including two way temporary traffic lights. Lidlington Street, Hampstead Road and Harrington Street will remain open.

The initial breaking out of the road will be the noisiest activity, although this will be intermittent and not continuous. We will erect temporary screening clad with acoustic panels to reduce noise. We will work as quickly as we can and keep the area tidy.

There will be no disruption to utility services as a consequence of these works. We recognise the disturbance this work can create and apologise in advance.
