The footpaths will be closed in some areas of the road.
*update 06Jun18 - Works on Lancing Street will now take place from 15 to 27 June 2018. The works will take place in the footways only, alternating one side at a time with the opposite footway remaining open
As part of developing the route design of the HS2 high speed railway, we are carrying out utility trial hole surveys in Lancing Street and continuing with trial holes in Eversholt Street during June.
The surveys will involve temporary holes being dug which will enable us to establish where utilities and services are located beneath the road surface.
The trial holes will continue in Eversholt Street between Doric Way and Grafton Place from 7 to 25 June.
The works will take place in one lane of the road at a time with alternating single lane closures in place. The bus stops adjacent to the works will be suspended. Eversholt Street will be closed to northbound traffic during the duration of these works and traffic diversions will be in place.
The trial hole in Lancing Street will be carried out at the junction with Eversholt Street from 16 to 22 June on the footpaths only. One footpath will be closed at a time with the opposite remaining open. Adjacent parking and loading bays will be suspended during this work.
The initial breaking out of the road will be the noisiest activity, although this will be intermittent and not continuous. We will erect temporary screening clad with acoustic panels to reduce noise, working as quickly as possible and keep work areas tidy.
There will be no disruption to utility services because of these works. We recognise the disturbance this work can create and apologise in advance.
