Utility trial holes; Robert Street

In our January update we stated that we would be carrying out utility trial holes surveys on Robert Street.

This work was expected to begin in March, but due to unforeseen delays, it will now be taking place from 8 to 16 May .

These surveys will involve temporary holes being dug, which will enable us to establish where utilities and services are located beneath the road surface.

The work will take place on Robert Street from 8 to 16 May, adjacent to the Surma Community Centre.

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-6pm. There are no works planned for Saturday.
  • Our contractors may also be on site for an hour before the start and/or at the end of each shift
  • One lane of the road will remain open at all times while the work is being carried out. The footpaths will also remain open.

The initial digging/breaking out of the road will be the noisiest activity, although this will be intermittent and not continuous. We will erect screening clad with acoustic panels to reduce noise. We will work as quickly as we can and keep road closures to a minimum, and we will keep the work area tidy.

There will be no disruption to utility services as a consequence of these works.

We recognise the disturbance this work can create and apologise in advance.
