Final designs revealed for the Euston Cavern Headhouse in Camden
The Euston Cavern Headhouse, which will provide emergency access to the high-speed railway, is one of eight that will be built in Greater London above shafts leading down to the 26 mile-long London tunnels below. Our construction partner, Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture (SCSJV), will be building the London tunnels which includes a section between Euston and Old Oak Common Stations known as the Euston tunnels and approaches. This is where the Euston Cavern headhouse will be located, in the railway cutting at the northern end of Park Village East.
The cavern headhouse will be three-storeys with one storey visible above street level and two below. Final design is now complete and incorporates feedback received since 2018.
